Simple Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

When a craving hits, sometimes you just have to go with the flow. That’s what happened when I had a crazy craving for a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I’ve had many Cheesesteak sandwiches in my life, but have never attempted to make one. That changed right quick.

Rather than a large sandwich, I chose to make little Philly Cheesesteak sliders. I really like the simplicity of this recipe, and by making them sliders, they can be served as a full meal, or as an appetizer for game day… or any day really.

You only need a few simple ingredients to make these Philly Cheesesteak sliders, and believe me, you will want to make them.

CheeseSteak

What you will need:

  • 1 medium size ribeye steak; cut thinly
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 green bell pepper; diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1 small onion; diced
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 dinner rolls or slider buns

**A little trick to cutting the ribeye thinly, is to freeze it for about 30 minutes and using a super sharp knife, slice against the grain.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add the meat, season and brown for about 4 minutes.

Add in the bell pepper, onion and mushrooms and saute until the veggies have softened. About 3 minutes.

Preheat oven to broil.

Cut each roll or slider bun in half, and place dinner rolls or slider buns on baking sheet. Add half a piece of cheese to each side and place a spoonful of meat mixture onto the bottom of each roll.

Broil until the cheese is melting and bubbly

Top each slider and serve!

Simple Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

These Philly Cheesesteak sliders made a great dinner – I served them with a side salad and voila! Dinner! It was nice to move away from my normal cooking to try something a little different. I packed the leftovers for Chris’ lunch, and made sure to place cheese on the top of the meat mixture, and then sent along a couple of buns. He said it tasted even better the next day.

Go on and give this quick and easy recipe a try! Let me know what you think!
